October 18, 2015 - Keystone Heights, FL to Micanopy, FL

It was partly cloudy when we were up. Edith mentioned to Erwin that she had a weird dream, but could not remember what it was about.  Few minutes later she remembered and told Erwin that in her dream he found a trapped mouse in our Lil' Home (LH).

While Edith was getting herself prettied up in the bathroom Erwin walked in and announced that there was no trapped mouse anywhere. Funny!

Before getting things put away we decided to go out for a good walk, took Loblolly Loop trail again, but this time the opposite way.  Yesterday we started on the left side, so today we took the right side.  It was a very pleasant walk.

Bubble Gum Lichen

You have to watch for these sticks that are right at eye level when you are
walking in the woods! These things are called "Eye Stabbers"
After getting back to the LH we started getting things put away.  Left the campground at 11:30 am, turned left onto Route 21, then right on Route 26 on our way to Paynes Prairie State Park in Micanopy, FL

Paynes Prairie State Park is off Route 441, south of Gainesville.  A very nice state park, has a small campground, observation tower, lots of walking trails.  We visited it last year and saw wild horses grazing in the swamp.  There are bisons, but we have yet to see them, however we have seen plenty of their tracks and droppings.

We got site #37, a pretty tight spot to get LH in, but Erwin managed it just fine. There is a tight space to park the Jeep.  After getting LH set up we quickly pulled out a patio rug, set up folding chairs and a tray.  Tires were covered for protection from the sun.

Edith made a shopping list of what we needed to get at Publix.  The store is about 15 minutes from the campground.  There are other grocery stores nearby, but Edith always likes to shop at Publix.

We got what we needed, however, we spent more than we wanted to.  Let’s hope they last about a week.

The problem here is finding space for all of them!
We managed just fine, Thank You!

After putting groceries away we sat outside with drinks and appetizers and enjoyed the tranquility.

Then we drove to Paynes Prairie Visitor Center parking lot, but decided not to hike because it was getting late and the center was already closed.  It was around 5:30 pm when we were there.

After supper we played 3 rounds of Cribbage and Edith came out a winner 2-1. During the game Erwin got up to go get something, tripped over the computer adapter that was near the chair and fell to the floor.  Earlier he saw the adapater, thought to himself that he was going to trip over it, but did not act to move it out of harm’s way.  His right side was sore and he took ibuprofen, went to bed early.  Hope he will be ok the next day.
