April 6, 2016 - Colorado Springs, CO

Edith woke up with a tummy ache, did not feel like getting out of the bed.  It took her a while to get up, take a shower and get dressed.

Beautiful morning.  Few RVs have checked out

Little House on wheels
It even has a deck!
Since Edith was not feeling up to par we decided not to take a drive up to Pikes Peak.  We went by Anna’s use, but none was home. A deer was grazing not far from Anna's house. While at the house we googled to see where Costco is and it was not too far from Anna’s.

The view of Pikes Peak from Costco is amazing.  The store layout is so different. Erwin wanted to pick up two jars of whole cashews, strawberries and blackberries.  Edith decided to get a 32M SD card for her camera, since she could not find where the new SD cards she ordered online are.

We went by Anna’s house again and she and Brian were home.  They went hiking while we came by earlier.  After Anna had her lunch she went with us to Gardens of the Gods.

Thank goodness it was not crowded at Garden of the Gods. We were able to find a parking space right away. Two years ago it took us a long time before we were able to find a spot.  We walked among the majestic and beautiful rocks.  Saw Kissing Camels, Sleeping Giant and Balance Rock.  There were two rock climbers getting ready to ascend to the top. There were two photographers at the base taking pictures or movies of the climbers.  There were 4 mule deer grading near the pathway.  We found out that the concrete were added underneath the Balance Rock to keep its balance.

Kissing Camels
And we kissed!

We cruised along Colorado Ave to see historic stores.  We did not have time to park and take a walk because it was getting close to dinnertime.

Brian fixed Asian dish, served homemade dark beer and dessert.  All of them except Edith used chopsticks.  Edith just wanted to use a fork, did not want to have to figure out how to hold chopsticks the right way and her dinner becomes cold.

Brian said we are welcome to eat breakfast with him and Anna tomorrow morning, so Erwin left strawberries and blackberries. Brian can use them to make something.

Both of us were starting to feel tired and sleepy.  We had a good day even though we scrubbed the plan on driving to Pikes Peak.  Always another time.  We know we will come visit Colorado Springs again.
