April 17, 2016 - Lakewood & Morrison, CO

It snowed more this morning!  A beautiful blanket of snow all around us.  It accumulated to about 12 1/2 inches. We took a walk around the campground to enjoy the wintry scene with a new fallen snow.

Our footprints
We did not want to be holed up in our Lil' Home again and decided to go out for a ride nearby.  Edith wanted to go to Red Rocks to get pictures of the rocks with the snow.  Erwin was concerned about the road condition going toward Red Rocks, but Edith was pretty sure the roads were okay.

Before leaving the campground we stopped to check on the Mama Owl and her owlets.  The Mama was not around and one of the owlets did not come out of the nesting hole. We could see just one inside.

The scene at Red Rocks was very beautiful.  We stopped at the Trading Post gift/food store to take a look at the bronze sculpture of Spirit depicting John Denver, the famed singer. Red Rocks was John's favorite place to perform.

Our Jeep handled the snow very well and Erwin used 4wd for steep up/down hills.
