June 8, 2014 (48th Day)

The Traver family went to church. After they got back they hurriedly changed into casual clothes, and we all hopped into the Excursion and went to a BBQ cookout in Anaconda, MT.  It is an annual BBQ event for the families that was hosted by Dustin's aunt and cousins.

Hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, side dishes, drinks were served.  Nice surrounding. There are creeks nearby.  Edith was thrilled to take pictures of a mountain bluebird that stayed put on the fence board for a long while, allowing her time to take many pictures.

When all of us were done eating and patting our tummies we rolled up our sleeves and went to the place where all the logs were piled up.  There was two log splitters and the men took turns splitting logs and loading the firewood into the trailer.  The firewood are to be delivered to the needy families in West Yellowstone. Indeed a good community service.  It was hot outside, the sun was "baking" us all (burning up the calories we put on). Erwin especially enjoyed the work because it reminded him of similar work he did growing up with his family! Plus it was a good workout that was needed!

Keri hard at work!

After helping a bit Edith started to have trouble with her right knee and her right shoulder and she was so so thirsty that she went and got herself a can of COKE (a big mistake).  After gulping all down she was still thirsty and grouchy, so she went to look for another can or bottle. She spotted a beer can, took it and drank it more than half a can (a MAJOR mistake).  Give her 1/8 cup of alcohol and she will be out for a while.

After the trailers were filled up with firewoods we all went back to the house to eat more.  Desserts were served.  People sat around the fire pit and relaxed for a while.

There was a house on top of the mountains.  The lady comes to live in it for 2 months a year and Dustin's family takes care of it during her absence.  Since it was vacant we all went to the top for skeet shooting.  What a beautiful view from the deck.  Men took turns trying to shoot skeet clays.  Conner even took part in it.

While it was so relaxing and peaceful out here it was time to leave because it is an hour and half drive back to Three Forks.  Thanked the hosts for the wonderful foods.
On way back to Three Forks Dustin wanted to show us the warehouse that specializes in pipe insulation. So, we went inside and Dustin explained how they put together this and that.  It was interesting.

It was a long drive back home.
