June 6, 2014 (46th Day)

We were always happy to see Keri and her family every morning. Hunter was so so adorable that we wished we could take him home, but Keri would not let us.

After a quick breakfast Keri wanted to move the couch from the basement to the living room upstairs, so she, Dustin and Erwin flexed their muscles to move the old furniture out and brought the couch and loveseat upstairs.

Then Erwin went with Dustin to the landfill and to look for wood pallets that Keri wanted for the kids' playroom in the basement. Keri donned on her "work" clothes and went downstairs to get started on painting the media room (Dustin's man cave).  Edith pitched in her help.  Keri added two gallons of tinted black paint to the "OOPS" bucket to make it darker and we took turns stirring and stirring what seemed like forever.  Once the first coat was dried Keri decided to add more tinted paint to make to make it darker.  Edith took a break at noon to fix peanut butter/jelly sandwiches for the kids. Since Edith cannot have peanut butter she chose to have an English muffin with cream cheese and kumquat preserve that she made at home.  Edith brought from home 4 pints of kumquat preserve and gave them to Keri.  After a good break Edith went back to work with Keri and it was not until after 3:30 that they were done with main coats. The only left to do were edges and corners.

Goofy ladies

Erwin and Dustin came home with a trailer and truck bed filled with wood pallets, and Keri was excited about the upcoming project she had for them.

After a good bath and a short rest Edith went with Keri to the grocery store while the men were working on wood pallets.  After grocery shopping Edith accompained Keri to her friends' house to deliver party invitations for Sasha's baptism and Hunter's first birthday party.

For supper Dustin and Keri had potato bar. There were lots of toppings we could add to the baked potato and it was very delicious. After supper Sasha made brownies, but it was already gone before we adults could get a piece, so Keri made another batch of brownies.

After a quick cleanup in the kitchen Edith and Erwin played Mexican Train domino game with Dustin and Keri.  We had never played this game before, but quickly learned how to play.  We played three games and Dustin was the winner.  There was a big "L" on Edith's forehead. It was a fun game. Zella wanted to play a game with her mom, so they played matching card game. Oh, Zella was so proud that she beat her mom. We enjoyed watching Zella while she played the game.

Before we were ready to hit the sack we went to the man's cave to check on the paint. Keri liked it, but would rather have a true grey color.  It had bluish tint and she did not want any blues in the paint.  This would mean another trip to Lowe's.

Good night, folks!
