August 11, 2014 (112th Day)

Edith had a restless night's sleep because she kept waking up to check the time to be sure she did not miss the sunrise.  She finally got out of the bed at 4:45 am, got the camera gear ready, then went out to the beach, set up the tripod.  The sun rose at 5:35 am, but it was behind an island, so she did not get a great shot of it rising above the horizon. Well, better than nothing.

Erwin got up around 6 am, fixed coffee and breakfast while Edith was catching up on trip notes.

Another gorgeous day and we felt so lucky and blessed to be having great days 90% of the time we spent traveling since April.

Driving on Atlantic Highway 1 the roads were in very bad conditions and there were road constructions here and there.

We were early when we arrived Freeport, Maine (ME). We wanted to check out this mega Flagship store by LL Bean.  What a HUGE store it was! Erwin got himself some clothes and Edith got only one.  We browsed every department and it must have taken us more than 2 hours to cover the whole area. By the time we got back to the parking lot it was FULL! There were few cars circling around looking for a vacant spot.

There were lots of mounted trophies in the hunting/archery department

We wanted to visit one of Maine's most famous lighthouses: Portland Head Lighthouse.  We spent half an hour admiring it, taking pictures, walking around the property, enjoying the view of the rocks and the ocean.

After we left Portland Head Lighthouse we did not stop anywhere until we arrived Manchester, New Hampshire.  Our Mifi was out of data and needed to be refilled. We stopped at Best Buy to get data refill cards. It took over an hour before Mifi was activated. While waiting for the activation we reheat leftovers for supper.

After making sure the Mifi works we drove to Walmart that was next door to Best Buy to spend the night.  Only two other RVs were here.
