Erwin was the first one up early, had to "drag" me out of the warm bed at 8 am. We wanted to be early to get in the line at Alaska/Canada customs before other RVs show up.
When I was about ready to hit the shower a loud bang was felt on the side of the Lil' Home. It was Richard letting us know that few Newmar motor homes were already lined up at the border crossing, even though the border does not open until 9 am.
It was not so cold outside. The clouds were hanging over the valleys.
Erwin checked antifreeze, had to add a quart and half to the radiator before we could leave to join in with other Newmar caravan rigs at the border.
We arrived at AK-Canada border at 8:25 am (Alaska Time). It took less than 2 minutes before the border agent let us through.

We visited Downtown Chicken, AK 5 years ago when we were on land/cruise tour with Holland America cruise line. Downtown Chicken, owned by Susan Wiren, is the original treat for visitors. We walked in Chicken Creek Saloon to see if Erwin's business card was still on the board. It is! It was 5 years ago here that Erwin left the card up there. Today He put another card beside it (to let visitors know that we visited Chicken twice). Chicken Creek Cafe is famous for its bakery, chicken pot pie,
chicken soup, and homemade fruit pies. We had breakfast, and picked up a
piece of cherry pie to go. It was about an hour we spent time at
Chicken before we got back on Taylor Highway/AK-5.
Huge Cinnamon Bun with Plenty of Icing!
The place was packed with hungry tourists like us!

There was another road construction, and we had to wait 15 minutes before the pilot car came back to lead us out.
We arrived in Tok, AK at 2:45 pm, checked into Tok RV Village, but
before going to the campsite we got in a long line to get RV/toad
washed. It was almost two hours before our turn. It was a good thing
that most of the caravan members were there to help speed the washing
process.
Our RV and Jeep both got so muddy from the wet roads on Top of World Highway!!

After settling down at the site we went off to do some exploring in and outside of Tok.
