June 10 2017 - Dawson Creek, BC to Fort Nelson, BC

Again, I was up way too early before the alarm even went off.  I guess it was because the sunrise began at 5 am!

We set up our Lil’ Home all ready before meeting our team at 7:50 am.  However, while I was working on travel notes Erwin discovered a problem with the awning on the driver’s side.  Brian came over and tried to fix it, but both men were not able to correct it.  We were able to get the awning closed up, but we think we may need to get a new awning later.

We left Mile “O” RV Park at 8:05 am, got on PCH 97 north to Fort Nelson, BC where we will spend one night at Triple G RV Park. The weather was beautiful this morning.

We pulled into Taylor, BC to check out one attraction and to get some information at a visitor center.  There is a wooden carving of the Gold Panner which is next to the visitor center.  The World's Invitational Gold Panning Championships are held on the banks of the Peace River each year on the long weekend of August. (Friday through Sunday).

The caravan members in 2010 raved about the breakfast at The Shepherd's Inn at Mile 72 , so we all decided to check it out. Our home-cooked breakfasts were very good and hearty.  The place was packed!

Fort Nelson Heritage Museum was not too far from Triple G, an easy walk over there. There were many interesting exhibits, artifacts, a large collection of vintage vehicles, and many more.
