January 27, 2017 - Old Town, FL to Horseshoe Beach, FL

The morning was pleasant, although a bit chilly.  It is expected to drop to mid 30’s tonight.

We joined Gracie for coffee chat before Erwin went out to get our Lil' Home ready for the move.  We had planned on going to Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park in Micanopy, FL.

Erwin called the state park ahead to see if there was any RV site available for the weekend.  “Sorry, only one tent site left”, the ranger replied back.  Another call to Gold Head Branch State Park and the reply from the other end was “ Two tent sites with electricity”.  We were out of luck, but Erwin suggested that we go back to Horseshoe Beach campground.  We both love this place and did not mind spending a couple more days there.

We thanked Gracie for letting us stay at her place last night.  After a good hug and signing ‘bye’ and ‘I love you’ we hit the road back to Horseshoe Beach.

We were hoping that our favorite site was still available. It was! Two other sites were already occupied.
Two hours later the campground attendant came by and knocked on the door.  When I opened the door the collector said “ Oh, you are back”.   We paid for 3 nights, plan to check out Monday morning.

The winds started to pick up a bit, but not as bad as it was few days ago.  The water was little choppy.  Few boats were out on the water.
Erwin prepared deer tenderloin with pasta and field beans for supper while I was out taking pictures of the sunset.

It started to feel chilly inside our ‘home’.  We had not turned the furnace on, but one of us might get up during the night and turn the heater on.
