We picked up our share of Halibut filets at Coal Point Seafood Market/Fish Processing in the morning. We got 23 pounds, but were able to get only 11 pounds with us because our freezer was not big enough to store all of them, so we had 12 pounds shipped to Erwin's niece in Arizona. We will pick them up when we come down to Arizona for the winter.

Alaska Islands & Ocean Visitor Center on Sterling Highway in Homer, AK |
We visited the town of Homer, a stone's throw away from Homer Spit. Home is located in Kenai Peninsula Borough in Alaska. It is also known as the "Halibut Fishing Capital of the World."

We then went to Homer Farmers Market just to browse around before checking out other attractions along the route.
When we were enroute to Homer Spit from Palmer, AK a couple days ago we spotted Ben Firth Studio in Anchor Point, AK, and decided that we were going to check it out on our free day today. Ben is a man of many talents: woodcarving, bronze sculptures, pencil drawing, watercolors, etc. Some of his children are talented, also.
