First team went out at 7 and we, the Sea Turtles, left the campground at 7:20 am.
Got on Old Glenn Highway toward Anchorage, AK Joined AK-1 Highway. The highway is a 4 to 6 lane freeway between Anchorage, AK and its junctions.
The visibility was limited, but manageable. Rain became light drizzle, very misty. As soon as we are near Anchorage. The fog lifted up and the visibility was better

We took an exit at AK-1 to get on Muldoon Road South, then to AK-1 Seward Highway South.
Although there are minor road construction the roads were good.
We took a short break at Bird Point Scenic Overlook at Chugach State Park, too a short walk to the viewpoint. It was very windy and cold, but the view of Turnagain Arm was lovely. We were hoping to see Belgua whales (endangered species), but there were none. Belgua whales are annual and summer visitors to the Turnagain Arm. It is said that the overlook is popular for weddings (I can imagine how beautiful it is). There are Beluga Whale sculptures at the end of the parking area.
In spite of the cloudy day the drive along Turnagain Bay and Seward Highway was beautiful. There were lots of low lying clouds over the mountains that made them more interesting. Small glaciers were spotted.

We entered the Kenai Peninsula at 9:45 am. The peninsula is now separated from the rest of central Alaska. The highway climbed for 6.5 miles toward Turnagain Pass. Now on Sterling Highway (Tern Lake Junction) toward Homer, AK
We stopped at Wildman's (131 miles from Homer) for a short break. It is open year-round and has a convenience store, laundry, and showers.
Anybody of you want to try this?
As we were driving through the town of Kenai there were so many boats out on the Kenai River. We hope to be able to go salmon fishing with a deaf captain, Dean, sometimes soon.
There was a sign outside of Soldotna, Ak that informed drivers of the number of Moose casaulties -218 deaths since July 1st of last year 😔
The sun finally broke through the clouds that were starting to part.
Lunch break near Scenic View RV Park. Partial view of Cook Inlet. In 2009, Mount Redoubt was active off/on during early year of 2009. It shut down air traffic several times due to volcanic activity.
After Anchor Point, SK I spotted two moose grazing in the field, not too far from the road, but was not able to get pictures
We arrived in Homer, AK At 2:15 pm, continued on until we arrived Homer Spit, a 4.5 mile long piece of land at Kachemak Bay. The Spit has the longest road into ocean waters. In 1964 the earthquake shrank Homer Spit by more than 500 acres.
We camped at Heritage RV Park, were put on a campsite with a great view of the Kachemak Bay. The set-up was swift and smooth.
We
went out for a drive to check out attractions, shops, boat harbor, etc.
While walking around Coal Point Seafoods/Processing area two guys were
hauling a large bucket to the fish cleaning station. We stayed to watch
the progress. One of the fish cleaners, a young lady was very
proficient at gutting and fileting halibut.
After coming back from the town we went to the campground building for a night of musical entertainment given by Mary Ellen, Pam, Brian and Richard.

We drove to The Land's End which is at the very end of Homer Spit. There were several people fishing at the bank.
