It was a beautiful morning.. Perfect for attending yard/garage sales near Bozeman. Keri mentioned the night before that we will leave early in the morning and hit as many sales as we can before we head to Bozeman Fish Technology Center (BFTC) for the annual kids fishing derby that started at 9 am. Upon arising Erwin felt sick and was having a fever, so he stayed in bed. Edith, Sasha and Hunter went in Keri's car, while Dustin had the rest of the kids in his truck. We all left home around 7. Keri found many good deals, even got some freebies. One sale had nice stack of white cotton napkins for cheap and Keri grabbed all of them (probably 40, I think) that she can use for Sasha's baptism.
It was cute, but Edith did not remember if it ended up in Keri's car trunk |
BFTC offers Youth Fishing Derby that is always held on the 1st Saturday of June for kids under 17 years old, so we all went there afterwards. The day was very perfect for this event. The pond is stocked with rainbow trout and each kid can get up to 2.
There were so many kids around the pond. Dustin helped the kids with getting the rod and bait ready and Keri would pitch in to help kids reel fish in. The kids lost a couple of fish that slipped off the hook as they landed them. Edith enjoyed taking pictures and videos of the Traver family at the pond. This time there was no ice cream stand that we can go to after fishing and get an ice cream. The kids were disappointed, so was Edith :-(
There was a total of 9 rainbow trouts caught by the kids. There was a fish cleaning station where the guys do the dirty job of discarding guts, rinsing the fish and bagging them with ice for the family to take home.
Last year (June 2013) Edith went with them to Fishing Derby and Keri was pregnant with Hunter at that time.
After we left BFTC we went to Costco to have lunch.
Always a joy to watch Hunter anytime and anywhere
After finishing errands in Bozeman we went back home. As soon as we got out of the car the kids went outside to play. Conner wanted to ride the ATV, then Sasha while Nikkol and Zella were with the horses. Erwin felt so much better and was anxious to see all of us back home. He brought Hunter over to the horse pen to meet Who and Stardust. Hunter was just fine with getting close to them. He showed no fear, which is good. The kids spent most of the afternoon playing outside while Keri fixed supper.

The chain came off and the ATV would not run, so Dustin and the kids had to push it back to the garage to get it fixed.

Supper was served and we spent the night resting, playing games, chatting, etc.
